Reasons for deploying the Maintenance Information System

The requirement for the system came from the company’s management. The request was:

  • ensuring the maintenance process at least at the same level as in other countries of the world where VEOLIA is active;
  • improving the current state of registration, processing and presentation of data from maintenance processes;
  • unifying the maintenance process across the company;
  • making it easier for users to manage and perform maintenance
  • use of data and new software to better manage the process.

Due to group settings, the Veolia Energia group in Slovakia had a choice of two transnational solutions and in the final decided on EAM from INFOR, today Hexagon.

Implementation process

  • Implementation began in 2019 with the development of a maintenance management study. Subsequently, there was an internal discussion about the Cloud vs. ON PREMISE and due to the circumstances with the integration with the ERP system Helios Green won the ON PREMISE solution. Currently, the system is operated on a cloud at ORANGE. The result of the local implementation is that the Veolia Energia Slovakia Group is able to work within the regulation of network industries in Slovakia and at the same time within the corporate rules, which would not be possible in the corporate Cloud solution due to influencing other users of this solution in the world.
  • The project continued with the implementation of maintenance processes in 2019-2020. The specialty was that within the structure of the Veolia Energia group in Slovakia, the company C – bau, Ltd. provides maintenance to most Slovak branches. We were able to support such a complicated process in Infor EAM.
  • By the end of 2021, work on the Infor EAM / Helios Green interface had been completed. The interface consisted of more than 15 separate transmissions. The planned launch on 1st of January was successful.
  • In 2022, ROLL – OUT solutions are planned for other locations in the Slovak republic.

Benefits of a maintenance information system

  • simplification of maintenance processes, including support for individual roles in the process
  • transparency of work for users
  • support for investment activities
    • monitoring and evaluation of costs
  • interface between systems
    • each worker works in only one (his) system
  • custom reporting as required

Customer statement

Zuzana Svobodová

Head of Tools, responsible for implementationC-bau,Ltd. member of the Veolia Energia group in Slovakia

The decision to use EAM started our long process of optimizing maintenance and unifying the database. Inseko is a great support for us, their ideas and solutions for improvement take our ideas even further. EAM is an excellent maintenance management tool, it can cover the entire process from the actual performance of work and recording of work time, or external costs, to management reports and KPIs, for better management, whether people or finances. The connection of EAM with the ERP system will provide us with a comprehensive view of maintenance and where and how efficiently funds are used.

Patrik Borš

head of MaR and Control Systems, EAM userC-bau,Ltd. member of the Veolia Energia group in Slovakia

From the point of view of the everyday user of the INFOR EAM maintenance management tool from the position of head of department, I can say that compared to the previous system, the whole administrative process has been simplified and, of course, accelerated. Thus, there is a clear saving of time, subsequently financial costs – maintenance resources, by improving the productivity of employees. One of the advantages is a detailed control of the time worked and the elimination of human factor errors. From the point of view of the coordination of planned (preventive and legislative) maintenance, EAM helped us to harmonize the schedules of these works and subsequently continue to work with the identified shortcomings so that there is no undesirable prolongation of the unsatisfactory factual situation. Last but not least, I consider the functional interface between EAM and the financial system to be a great benefit, which will significantly simplify the work, the process of purchasing, procuring services and also the acceleration of other internal processes. INSEKO, as our partner, approached the process of EAM implementation in our company in such a way that it takes into account and incorporates into the system many often times demanding requirements of all interested parties.
